Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi, a daughter of Padma Parvati Lakshmi, was born in Chennai, India, on September 1st 1970. Her parents divorced at the age of two. Her mother emigrated to the United States to escape the stigma of divorce in India. Lakshmi lived in Chennai with her maternal grandparents for two years before she moved to the United States.
