Kristin Landen Davis Bio

Kristin Landen Davis is an American Golden Globe- and Emmy Award nominated actress. She is popular for her portrayal of Charlotte York Goldenblatt on HBO's Sex and the City. Early life and education Davis was born in Boulder, Colorado. Her parents divorced when she was an infant and she was an only child. After her mother Dorothy was a analyst for data analysis, wed Keith Davis, University of South Carolina psychologist Keith Davis took her in as an adoptive child. After her first marriage she had three step-sisters. She and her family moved to Columbia, South Carolina in her early childhood. Her father, who was adopted, was the provost at Columbia and also taught psychology at the University of South Carolina. Davis was interested in becoming an actress from the age of 10, when she was part of a community theatre production of Snow White and the Seven... She and her ex-boyfriend Alec Baldwin, guest-starred on Will & Grace (1998) as well as Friends (1994) although not in the same episode. She was also a guest at Sarah Jessica Parker's 40th birthday celebration. She was a candidate for Sarah Tobias' role in The Accused (1988). She was turned down by Jonathan Kaplan and the part was offered to Jodie Foster. Two children adopted, Gemma Rose Davis and Wilson Davis. Ambassador for Oxfam an organization that fights poverty. She visited the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya in July of 2011 in her role to be an Oxfam Ambassador. Kristin is the only actor who has not been married. Her character Charlotte (1998) on "Sex and the City") was the first person to be married.
